Researching The Very Stupid Man

I have always been interested in pre-history and in particular prehistoric man. I visited Banpo Village in Xi’an China where evidence of very early life is visible because the impressions of structures, protective moats and clay burial pots made in the surrounding terracotta clay. I was enthralled by stories of Otzi man, a 5300 year old corpse that was naturally preserved by ice in the Tyrolean Alps. I envy English painter Hughie O’Donoghue who was invited to be present at the exhumation of Peat Bog Man in Denmark, a victim of human sacrifice.

I think this fascination with early life on earth comes from a recognition that life is transient and a sense that every decision that is made will have consequences and outcomes that will reverberate through history.
